Country Manor Senior Housing Community is seeking a Community Life Manager to lead our Life Enrichment team!

The Community Life Manager is responsible for the supervision of the life enrichment staff, as well as the development and growth of Country Manor's Senior Housing Life Enrichment programming. This includes monthly life enrichment calendars, daily activities and social opportunities, special events, excursion execution, and chaperoning when appropriate, as well as working alongside residents and families to bring to life activities that are unique to individuals' wants and needs. He/She will maintain compliance with CM standards and MDH requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Post-HS degree, along with experience working directly with the senior population
  • Must possess a genuine interest in geriatrics, physically challenged or psychosocially impaired persons and must be willing to work closely with all residents in an effort to enrich the lives of the people we serve
  • Must be able to create social calendars and special event ideas that are unique, meaningful, respectful, and fun!
  • Must be energetic and show initiative toward the program, finding new and innovative ideas to share and implement
  • Must display a great deal of patience, consideration, and tact when dealing with residents, families, visitors, and community members
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated comfort with technology
  • Proficiency with clerical skills (typing, filing), basic bookkeeping skills and computer skills
  • Must be able to work independently & use independent judgment when making decisions
  • Must be a positive influence and leader for the life enrichment team

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise life enrichment staff
  • Develop and prepare monthly life enrichment calendars and newsletters
  • Must exercise discretion and use conflict resolution when responding to resident and family concerns
  • Control process when completing necessary paperwork and orientate new residents and families
  • Develop annual social program budget, track expenses, and monitor supplies
  • Monitor attendance and participation of residents
  • Facilitate decorating of designated areas i.e. seasonal and various approved themes
  • Maintain/coordinate a schedule of lounge and common area reservations within appropriate communities
  • Supervise the volunteer program through recruitment, orientation, and scheduling of volunteers for various programs
  • Assist in monitoring any noticed change of status of residents and communicate issues of concern that are observed to the RN Case Manager
  • Lead Resident Council Meetings. Encourage involvement from all residents; communicate issues/concerns raised to the Senior Housing Executive Director
  • Maintain positive working relationships with other departments
  • Coordinate the distribution and collection of resident surveys and various communication newsletters
  • Support the goals and vision of the department
  • Design and control organizational system for tracking inventory and supplies of department
  • Maintain physical environment and equipment in a safe and orderly manner
  • Monitor and comply with all pertinent regulatory requirements
  • Participate in on-call rotation within the department
  • Other duties as assigned
